AGENT: SELF-STUDY EXAM MUST BE SUPERVISED TO COUNT
Home study continuing education offers a quick, convenient and affordable way to meet your continuing education requirements.
Completion of a self/home study course involves studying a course text and passing a closed-book exam with a 70% score or better. In order to successfully complete a home-study continuing education course, you must pass a closed-book examination supervised by a registered proctor or a librarian, clergyman, licensed accountant, lawyer, or state or community college representative.
If there is not a registered proctor in your area, simply have a member of one of the above professions proctor your exam and they send the completed exam answer sheet back to me for grading and certification. You will need to score 70% or better to pass. There is no test review allowed from the provider.

The certificate of completion date for home-study courses will be the date the completed examination
was received by the course provider, (me) -- not the date the exam was taken or mailed. If the completion date is after your insurance license expiration date, the course will be considered late and your license will have expired.
(a) For each two year renewal period occurring after issuance of an agent license through the sixth year that an agent holds an agent license, the agent must complete 44 hours of continuing education;
(b) For each two year renewal period occurring after the sixth year that an agent holds an agent license, the agent must complete 24 hours of continuing education;

If the independent study course is a textbook, the examination must be conducted as a closed book examination. The examination for an independent study course need not be proctored if the course is computerized and includes safeguards ensuring that the agent cannot review the study material while taking the examination and if the examination has safeguards ensuring that the agent cannot change answers after completing the examination. Proctor affirmation and provider certification shall be made as follows:
The proctor must disclose in the affidavit (enclosed) the proctor's name, address, telephone number and the proctor's position or connection with the agent, such as a continuing education school or a librarian, and the proctor's registration number, if the proctor is required to be registered under section (7) of this rule.
